Buyer guidance
Check that the legal company named on a certificate matches the manufacturer being qualified and the role described in the order documents.
Request the current full document and review validity dates, certification scope, issuing body and any required verification method.
A management-system certificate supports process qualification; it does not prove every product composition, performance value or destination-market requirement.
The manufacturing parent holds management-system and enterprise certificates: ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management, production-safety standardization, provincial technology-based enterprise recognition and textile industry association qualification. Current copies are provided on request during supplier qualification.
Every one of these qualifies how the company is run and how production is controlled. None of them certifies the performance of an individual product. A certificate is not a test report, and this distinction is stated plainly here because it is routinely blurred elsewhere in this industry.
Where a product-level claim is needed — OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 for tested articles, a flammability result, a specific colorfastness or dimensional-stability figure — it comes from a test report on that specific material and construction, within that certificate’s validity period. Ask for the scope, not just the logo.
BOREDON will confirm which items are covered by an existing report and which would require new testing, with the cost and lead time of that testing stated before you commit. What it will not do is imply that one tested article certifies a whole catalog.
For goods entering the Eurasian Economic Union, light-industry products fall under TR CU 017/2011 and require EAC marking; the importer or an authorized representative registered in the union holds that obligation. For the European Union, Regulation 1007/2011 requires accurate fiber composition labeling in the relevant member-state language, and REACH restrictions apply to substances in the finished article.
The factory manufactures to the material specification and label content you approve and can support your documentation, but the party placing goods on a market is the party responsible for their conformity there. Any supplier who tells you otherwise is creating a problem you will discover at customs.
The manufacturing parent does not hold a medical device license, and no product in the hospital, senior-living or care range is offered as a sterile, antimicrobial, fluid-barrier, protective or medical-device item. Those products are general textiles for institutional use.
Similarly, no marine fire-safety type approval is claimed for cruise and marine supply. Where a project requires certified performance to a named standard, say which standard and class in the inquiry so it can be assessed honestly rather than assumed.
